Some features make headlines, others just quietly fix a problem everyone knows about but never dares to complain about. Bulk creation of form select options clearly belongs to that second category. Webflow just added it, and honestly, we wonder how we managed without it until now.
Before this update, adding a dropdown with every country in the world, every industry, or every budget range to a contact form was an ordeal. You had to click "add an option," type the text, confirm, and start over. Not exactly fun once the list went past ten items.
This seemingly minor task generated a real hidden cost in production hours, often invisible in the quote, but very real in day-to-day team work.
The concept is simple, and that is exactly what makes it such good news. You can now paste an entire list of options directly into the select field, following a few rules:
A nice little bonus that changes everything day to day: data copied from a spreadsheet (Google Sheets, Excel) arrives in tab-separated format and works natively, with no reformatting required. Handy when your list of options comes from a client file sent ahead of the project.
| Before the update | With bulk creation |
|---|---|
| Manual option-by-option entry | Direct paste of a full list |
| No native way to set text and value at once | Text/value separation with a simple comma |
| Reformatting needed from a spreadsheet | Directly compatible with Excel/Sheets copy-paste |
| Errors hard to spot in a long list | Faulty line flagged automatically |
Let us be honest: this is not the feature that will light up social media. And yet, it is exactly the kind of update we have been waiting for at Mazette.co for a long time.
On our client projects, forms are never a minor detail. A quote request form with a poorly configured "industry" dropdown, or an incomplete country list, directly affects the quality of the leads you collect. And until now, every manually added option was one more chance to make a typo or forget an item.
This update does not change anything visually, but it clearly changes the game in production. This is exactly the kind of improvement that matters in the hours we bill our clients.
What we particularly appreciate: native compatibility with data copied from a spreadsheet. Many of our clients send us their form content via Google Sheets, especially for long lists (countries, product categories, price brackets). No longer having to reformat that data before adding it is a real gain in fluidity for our production method.
Our only minor gripe? We would have liked Webflow to take this further, for example by allowing a direct import from an external source (API, connected spreadsheet) rather than a simple static copy-paste. But for a comfort feature like this, we are not going to complain.
If you manage a Webflow site with somewhat complex forms (job applications, quote requests, event registrations with multiple choices), this update saves you precious time. And time saved in production is also budget better invested in what really matters: design, user experience, and your site's marketing performance.
At Mazette.co, we factor in this kind of improvement as part of our ongoing monitoring of the Webflow ecosystem, alongside developments around AEO or SEO best practices on Webflow. It is often these small details, added up together, that make the difference between a "decent" site and a truly well-executed one.
