Site Goals in Webflow Analyze & Optimize: your true north, finally defined

TL;DR

Webflow launches Site Goals: a way to define your priority KPIs once and for all (leads, revenue, demo requests) so Analyze and Optimize use them everywhere, without reconfiguring every report or test.

Webflow now lets you set the business goals that actually matter, so your site analysis and optimization finally speak the same language you do

What Webflow just launched with Site Goals

A marketing site always exists for a specific reason. Generating leads, driving revenue, filling up a demo calendar. The problem is that this purpose often gets lost in the flood of metrics we look at day to day. Webflow addresses this with Site Goals, a new feature available in Analyze & Optimize.

The idea is simple on paper, but it changes a lot in practice: define your "north star" metrics once and for all, the ones that truly matter for your business, and let Webflow automatically surface them everywhere they matter.

How it actually works

Once your Site Goals are set up, they become the default lens through which Analyze and Optimize evaluate your site's performance. Concretely, this plays out on two levels:

  • In Analyze: the Site Overview shows your total conversions, leads, and generated revenue directly tied to your Site Goals. You land on the page and immediately know whether your site is performing.
  • In Optimize: your Site Goals can become the target of any test, and appear on every report. Combined with AI-optimized tests, they give the algorithm the context it needs to arbitrate on its own between several experiments running at once.

To get started, you have three options: promote an existing goal to a Site Goal, create a new one and track it as such, or connect HubSpot / Marketo to automatically track form submissions (a feature reserved for Enterprise plans).

A nice touch: you can assign a business value to each goal. A demo request does not carry the same weight as a newsletter signup, and Webflow finally lets you formalize that. You can also rename your Site Goals to match your internal vocabulary, whether that is "leads," "conversions," or "revenue."

Before Site Goals With Site Goals
Goals defined separately in each report or test Goal defined once, automatically available everywhere
Hard to prioritize between several tracked conversions Business value assigned to each goal
A/B tests optimized in isolation AI arbitrates multiple tests based on the same overall goal
Limited to sites hosted on Webflow Also available for non-Webflow sites

Why this is more than a simple interface setting

What makes this announcement interesting is not the feature itself but what it sets the stage for. Webflow says it plainly: Site Goals lay the groundwork for more "agentic" optimization. By giving AI a shared understanding of what truly matters for your business, the system can make more relevant recommendations, measure their real impact, and eventually optimize your site more autonomously toward the outcomes you actually care about.

It is the same underlying logic found in other recent evolutions of the platform, where Webflow is trying to give its AI tools business context rather than letting them optimize generic metrics disconnected from the client's real strategy.

Mazette.co's take

We are applauding with both hands, and not just to be polite. At Mazette.co, we see plenty of dashboards overflowing with metrics that do not help anyone answer the real question: is the site doing its job? Site Goals offer a simple, structuring answer to that problem.

What we find particularly clever is the ability to assign a business value to each goal. Too many analytics tools treat a demo request and a newsletter signup with the same statistical weight, even though they clearly do not carry the same commercial value. Here, Webflow forces a useful conversation between marketing and business teams: what is our true north star, really?

The real strategic value lies in the agentic layer being built behind the scenes. An AI that optimizes "blindly" for micro-conversions does not bring much lasting value. An AI that knows your real goal is generating sales pipeline, and arbitrates its tests accordingly, is a total game changer for a serious performance marketing program.

One caveat, though: reserving the HubSpot and Marketo integration for Enterprise plans leaves smaller teams out in the cold, when they are exactly the ones who could use this kind of automation to save time. We hope Webflow will open this up to other plans down the line. Beyond that, this is an update we recommend enabling without hesitation on any site already using Analyze & Optimize.

How to make the most of Site Goals starting today

If you already manage a Webflow site with Analyze & Optimize active, setting this up takes just a few minutes. Most of the real work happens upfront: agreeing internally on what truly constitutes your priority goal, and the relative value of each type of conversion.

This discussion is worth having together with marketing, sales, and product teams, rather than being decided unilaterally by whoever configures the tool. This is exactly the kind of support we offer at Mazette.co during our Webflow and SEO audits: aligning the metrics you track with your real business goals before wiring up automated optimizations.
