Webflow AEO Analytics adds Perplexity to visibility tracking

TL;DR

Webflow AEO Analytics now tracks Perplexity alongside ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, giving you a complete view of your brand visibility across the major AI answer engines.

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude... and now Perplexity: Webflow completes its AEO radar for a full view of your presence in AI answers

A new building block in Webflow's AEO radar

Webflow has just expanded its AEO Analytics module. Until now, the tool tracked your brand visibility on ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. Perplexity now joins the list. In practice, your tracked prompts are now tested across these four AI answer engines, with a dashboard you can filter by model.

The idea behind this update: your brand does not behave the same way depending on which AI you ask. Well-structured content can be cited repeatedly by Perplexity and be completely invisible on ChatGPT. Without consolidated data, there is no way to know. That is exactly what Webflow AEO Analytics now fixes.

What this actually changes for you

With this extension, you get a more precise map of your presence in AI-generated answers. You can spot the gaps between models, identify where your content performs well and where it deserves to be reworked.

  • Consolidated tracking across 4 major AI engines: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity
  • Filter the AI Discovery dashboard by model to compare results
  • Detect coverage gaps between the different AI engines
  • A solid basis for prioritizing your content optimizations by platform
AI Engine Key trait AEO Analytics tracking
ChatGPT The most widely used by the general public Yes
Gemini Integrated into the Google ecosystem Yes
Claude Long-form answers, business-oriented Yes
Perplexity Answer engine with source citations New

What comes next?

Webflow has already announced it is working on MCP and API access to the full response data. The goal: letting you tap into this data with your own AI tools, for deeper analysis such as sentiment or accuracy checks, at scale across all your prompts.

Mazette.co's take

Good news, and not a minor one. Perplexity holds a unique place in the AI ecosystem: it is the engine people turn to precisely to get sourced, verified answers, with clickable links back to the original information. Which means that if your brand is cited there, it is a strong trust signal, arguably even stronger than a mention in a classic conversational chatbot.

At Mazette.co, we keep telling our clients: traditional SEO is no longer enough to tell the full story of your online visibility. More and more people ask their questions directly to an AI, without ever visiting your site. If you do not show up in those answers, you become invisible to a growing share of your audience, even if your Google ranking remains excellent.

What we particularly appreciate about this update is the logic of comparing models against each other. Each AI has its own criteria for selecting sources, its own way of synthesizing information. Seeing these gaps laid out clearly lets you prioritize intelligently: if your content is poorly picked up on Perplexity but performs well on Claude, that is not a global quality issue, it is a structuring or source-freshness issue, one that is often fixable quickly.

Our conviction: AEO is not a passing trend, it is the logical continuation of SEO. And the more measurement tools get refined, the easier it becomes to build a content strategy that truly speaks to generative AI, not just to classic indexing bots.

The only downside is that this feature remains reserved for the Analyze for Enterprise plan. A logical segmentation choice on Webflow's part, but one that leaves smaller structures out, often the ones most curious to experiment with this kind of tracking. We hope to see it gradually made available on more accessible plans.

If you want to dig deeper into your brand's AI visibility, we already covered this when AEO Analytics opened up to Claude and Gemini.
