Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the official term for optimizing content so it gets picked up, cited, or summarized by AI-based answer-generation engines. It covers the same challenges as AEO: structuring content so it is easily understood and citable by a language model. The term GEO is increasingly searched as the use of generative AI in information search becomes widespread.
