llms.txt

The llms.txt file is a standardized file, placed at the root of a site, that tells AI language models which content on the site is a priority to consult and how to interpret it. It plays a role comparable to the historic robots.txt, but designed specifically for the era of generative AI rather than traditional search engines. It is still an emerging practice, increasingly integrated into AEO/GEO strategies.
